Add Price List Discount

Adding a Price List Discount enables you to create predefined discounts for seamless application across jobs, invoices, and estimates. Discounts can be tailored with details such as a name, description, and applicable tax categories. These discounts are applied at the line-item level, ensuring accurate pre-tax or post-tax calculations depending on your pricing setup. This functionality helps maintain consistency and efficiency when managing discounts, making it easier to provide promotions or adjustments while keeping financial records clear and accurate.

Prerequisites: Account owners and those with administrator access.

Instructions

1. From the Main Dashboard, click on the Administration tag.
   
   
   
   
   
   
2. You will enter the Administration Dashboard.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Now click on the Inventory Settings tag to reveal the dropdown menu.
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. Click Price List, to enter the View Price List page.
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. Click the Add Price List Item button, to be directed to the New Price List Item page.
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. Select Discount, from the dropdown menu in the Item Type field. You will see the fields change and the page will display in a new view.
   
   
   
   
   
   
7. Fill in the relevant fields:
   

   ·       Item Type: Choose "Service" to indicate that you are adding a service rather than a product or discount.

   ·       Product/Service Name: Enter the name of the service being added (e.g., Inspection, Installation).

   ·       Short Description: Enter a brief description for quick reference.

   ·       UPC: (Optional) Add a Universal Product Code (UPC) for the service if applicable.

   ·       Category: Assign the service to a relevant category to help with organization and filtering.

   ·       Active: Indicate whether the service is active and available for use. Select "Yes" to activate the service.

   ·       Exclude from Updates on Import: Select "Yes" if you do not want this service to be updated during data imports.

   ·       Tax Categories: Specify the applicable tax category for the service to ensure proper tax calculations.
   
   
   
   

8. Once all required fields are filled, click Save to add the service to the pricelist. You should see confirmation “Saving Item, Please wait…”.
   
   
   
   
   
   
9. The Discount will now be visible on the View Price List page.
